L’Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay is a 4-star hotel in the Chevreuse Valley, Rambouillet Forest, Yvelines – a venue decorated in history. The 12th century abbey boasts a gourmet restaurant, a private events space and 58 luxury rooms.
However, due to the remote location of the building, management had previously struggled to find an internet connection with adequate speed. Previously the hotel had opted for a standard ADSL connection, with a phone line and a router, which delivered a poor performance with regular delays.
That is until a famous client – the daughter of British rock star, Mick Jagger – introduced the hotel staff to satellite broadband. The team contacted Com-IP, specialists in the provision of customised business networks, who recommended Eutelsat’s satellite broadband as the most suitable solution.
Com-IP installed a satellite connection in both buildings, so that every room of the hotel receives high-speed wi-fi internet access.
As Mr. Lalot, the hotel deputy director, says ‘We may well be in a XII century abbey but broadband is a necessity, and it must work’.
Since fast internet is there, former clients have returned and a number of new ones are discovering this beautiful secluded site which is now fully connected.
